is different. The children in my classroom make me laugh,they give hugs and they always want to do their best job they can do. When you work in a place with children you have you good day and your bad days but everyday is about the children.
I started my career in Early Childhood Education as a volunteer at my sons Head Start program. He was the one person that thought I should be a teacher. Now I work as a teacher and nothing can get in my way.
In week two of my class we listened to Early Childhood Educators talk about their passion and motivation. I think the two people who I relate to are:
1) Renatta Cooper because she said " Its not all about you.You have to take your ego out and do whats best for the child." Many times teachers and parent do what they think is best for the child, but we should make sure that what we chose is in the child best interest.
2) Sandy Escobido who said "We as professionals in the Early Childhood Field have an opportunity to shape a child's life for the better."My hope as a teacher in the Early Childhood field is that I make a difference
I LOVE the quote from Renatta Cooper. I like how you said it but I also think there is more depth to the quote. Unless you live in that child's shoes, you may assume you know what is best for a child but you won't. That is why I take their parents wants into the equation when I make the lesson plans for the week. They know what the child is doing at home and I hop they have the best interests of the child in mind.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the quote from Confucius! When you are doing something that you love it's not even work. You are so right that everyday is different. No matter what type of mood I'm in for the day when I am at work I can always count of my kids to make my day better and bring back my smile.
