Ethics
In the field of education there are many codes of ethics, There are three that I feel strongly about.
Professional Practice set the tone of how professional should carry themselves. How we should advocate for our children and their families That we should be truthful and honest and hold ourselves to a high standard. That we share information with our colleagues. I feel that Professional Practices help set the standard.
Professional Development and Preparation is where we keep in form of the changes in our field.
That we maintain our credentials and all state requirements. That it is our jobs to mentor new colleagues entering the the field. That we are aware of challenges in the field.
Ethical and Evidence Based Practices is how we develop the programs that needed to support the children and families that we serve. We supply the resources that support and nature our families.
All three of these practices have set the stage to how Early Childhood Educators should perform.
What evidence based practices do you use in your center now? How do you prove to your parents that what you are using supports their children the way they think it should? I truthfully agree with the three you picked. They are all important to early childhood educators.
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy
DeleteSome of the things that we use in the classroom are small groups where we have children of different level work together. We also do a end of the day review so that we give the children time to ask questions and we can help them fine the answer. At the end of each week we send home a review sheet so that the parents can see what we are doing and so that they can practice on the same skills.
